There are many other responses that one could make, but might not need to be made!

I always take comfort in one passage in Isaiah 55 (Msg.):

“I don’t think the way you think.
 The way you work isn’t the way I work.”
“For as the sky soars high above earth,
 so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
 and the way I think is beyond the way you think.”

If I could understand God, then he would be too small to be worth my worship. Some people take this as an anti-intellectual cop out, of course, but I can’t help that.
